Dr. Varkha Rattu is a final-year MClinDent Periodontology postgraduate student at the renowned King’s College London, where she has developed extensive experience in the non-surgical and surgical management of periodontal and peri-implant diseases, mucogingival defects, and implant dentistry. With a special interest in the relationship between periodontitis and diabetes, Dr. Rattu is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain optimal periodontal health through personalised and integrated healthcare. She has since founded the Periodontitis-Diabetes hub – an educational initiative aimed at healthcare professionals and patients to increase awareness of both conditions and improve integrated healthcare. She has won several awards including the prestigious British Society of Periodontology Systematic Review Prize, recognising her exceptional research conducted in collaboration with leading global experts, which has garnered international recognition.

As a dedicated educator, Dr. Rattu is frequently invited to deliver lectures and workshops on both national and international platforms. Through her contributions, she aims to provide clear, scientifically accurate information to both dental professionals and the public, empowering them to make informed decisions about their oral health.
